3D DRAWING AND PRINTING

In this second week,I have learnt a lot in 3D drawing and printing using Ironcad and 3D printers respectively.

On Monday,Dr Wettergreen lectured us on how to assemble blocks and make objects being used day in day out by man using Ironcad,we went on to draw various objects, for instance some designed chairs whilst others designed aeroplanes etc .It was really fun designing ones desired drawing.

Drawing using Ironcad continued on Tuesday,Dr Wettergreen wanted to make sure that each of us was really familiar with Ironcad.

In the afternoon,he took us to the WET lab where he showed and explained to us how 3D printers work.It was my first time seeing a 3D printer and I was happy.

By the end of that day’s business, everyone had most of the skills in 3D drawing and printing

On Wednesday,we were divided in groups of twos, each had to build a 3D printer from a scratch,it was really an adventure in engineering.By the end of the day, each group had finished ¾ of the steps they were supposed to follow in building the printer.

We finished building on Thursday and started testing and calibrating the 3D printers the same day.Calibration continued on Friday.

Below is the printer I and my colleague,Whitney built and one of the object it printed.
