What an exciting week!!!!

The second week has been full of fun as apart of learning much things. we stated with learning 3 D drawing using both Tinkercad and Ironcad . Mostly the 3 D  designing is used to represent something that can communicate an idea to clients of which ends up having the real thing produced in real dimensions.  It was much fun coming up with my chair  design and printing it using the Dimension 3D printer in the wet lab using FDM technology. FDM technology is a layer by layer process of printing the molten which is at a temperature is 200 degree Celsius.

        ?????????????

The next activity in the week was building our own the 3D printrbot simple metal printing machine , and I was really excited upon seeing the materials for us to assemble the printer from scratch. The pb printer is much different with the other printer we were using in the way that this is much faster  in printing comparing to the printers in the wet lab. Despite this is fast it can only print models which will need no support of which the printer in the wet lab can do since it has to lay support first models in the process of printing.
Below is the printrbot that we found already assembled ;

we started by verifying if all the material indicated on the sheet were available of which it was also an initiative of knowing some of the components and labeling them for easy identification during assembly.e.g screws and some small components;

step by step we found out that we finished building and it was ready for testing,

Below are some of the models printed using our  printer the that I assembled with  Hanna;
one of the print that we have used is the fan cover in picture 3 which is not found on the already built printer at an Extruder temperature of  210 degree celcius

It was quiet an interesting week knowing equipments from scratch and all in all building which gives a wide understanding of the 3 d printer that we built; and knowing the relation of each filament used especially diameter in relation to the thickness and quality of the print after printing a number of boxes with different machine settings using Cura software!!!!!
