One of the most annoying things is when you have a ton of work to do and yet you cant do the work because there is a central piece missing. That’s what last week had in store for us. After ordering the materials for building our device, we expected the materials to be in the OEDK on Wednesday the latest but what happened? well the first batch of materials came on Monday but it was just pins, metal end caps and a u-bolt. These are barely the materials we needed to start building the frame of the device. what we really needed were telescoping tubes which never came. The next day we received just a few tubes so we began cutting them to size while waiting for the last batch and Jeremy was also machining a piece for attaching dolly wheels to the device

when  the last piece finally came we quickly cut it to size and made a detailed plan of how we were going to weld all the pieces together. we finally welded everything on Thursday afternoon with the help of Jeremy and did a little bit of testing. The next day we continued testing, Dr Hunter and Dr Wettergreeen also came to evaluate and talk to us about the prototype. They gave us their feedback which was useful when we were planning some modifications to do to the prototype we built. came to prototype was then tested and we noticed a few things:

• it was portable enough
• it could bear the required weight
• it was nearly impossible for one person to adjust the device
• it was unstable since the dolly wheels were not locking

in order to solve the adjustment issue, we decided to remove the two front legs which made the device hard to adjust and then modify the base of the remaining structure to improve stability.

On Wednesday we went to see a baseball game. Being there in the stadium was nice, the whole experience of being there and what was happening in the stadium was great. But what i didn’t like was the game itself, i didn’t think it was as interesting as i thought it would be and i really didn’t know what the players were doing since i have no idea on the rules of the game
