Every week ends with wonderful stories and experiences.
This week have been working on our cervical cancer project and the progress is so promising that we are moving at the right pace and will finish it shortly. have also gained more skills in coming up with more good cervices using solid work
Our client Sonia looked at our medium fidelity prototypes models and we showed her how we are implementing the color change by swabbing the cervices with boiled water. She has recommended the method of making the color change, and has loved the models we have come up with so far. below are the models for our medium fidelity prototypes for the different cervices, Normal, Cyst , pre_cancer and cancerous.
Our only concern which our client has also showed some concern is the temperature at which our models gets to change color to indicate that its cancerous. The outside temperature is too hot and is above 90 degrees Fahrenheit which is the temperature at which our models changes color. The models will as well be used in countries which are so hot like Brazil and since the color changes just by being exposed to temperature above 90 and the chances that the models will be used in air conditioned rooms are low, it is difficult to achieve our goal because the models will change color before the whole procedure of training medical personnel and this makes them look less realistic and will be hard training people using them. We have now ordered heat sensitive paint which will change color when exposed to temperature equal to or above 113 degrees Fahrenheit.
This week we also had need finding workshop, i have learned that some times experiences can be the better tool to understand what others are experiencing in life. Looking at he photos below, i used different kinds of ways to experiences different kind of disabilities. This has really made me gain some knowledge on how we can meet the needs of people with disabilities cause i was exposed to some of the problems they face.
lastly we also painted the tree house and have gained painting experience.
Next week we are hopping to come up with our final models provided we get our Thermochromic paint. Am hopping to gain more knowledge and to as well share more with my team and everyone else.
