Wonderful begining

it has been quite interesting how the week has just ended, after being exhausted with the long trip from malawi last weekend. so wonderful to meet wonderful fellow interns from Rice University; everyone is just awesome!!!!!!

by moving around in the design kitchen during my first day it really gave me hope that this is a place that will not just go back to malawi the way i came, but rather grasp something that will enhance my carrier. a good start with disassembling devices, making sure that all components are separated and weighing them on scale; it wasn’t just for fun but something that gave me a picture of components used (material and how these component are manufactured) .

another day started with funny drawings on whiteboard; realising that it was just starter for laser and plasma cutting. quite interesting to use some of the softwares that i have never used e.g adobe illustrator, Iso Pro etc and especially operating  the two laser and plasma cut  machines to print out my design. though it was not quite easy  still i can smile that i managed to come up with a cut map of malawi with the writing of warm heart of africa and a  hole of which it can be used as a key holder and other designs.

the fact that i have also learned how to design and come up with printed circuit board(PCB) it is really quite good; since i will now be able just to print designed circuit rather that laying wires on breadboard, which mostly occupies much space.

what a beginning,  i’m eager to learn and do more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
