The SEED internship kicked off very well, its really exciting and full of awesome educative opportunities in this internship program! I consider my self very fortunate to be part of this amazing internship program and looking forward to learn a lot of things related to my field in this short period of time and be able to share the knowledge with the students back home.
The internship started on 7 June, where the program was fully introduced to us and all the people working in this program by Dr Wettergreen. Then we played some fun games to help us the interns to catch up and learn about each others cultures since we all from different part of the global and know each other better in general.
As part of the catching up activities we all did a presentation on an overview of our country’s culture which was really interesting and fun to learn our fellow interns cultures and other things we have in common.
The safety requirements at the OEDK were properly communicated to us and we took a quiz to verify if we are aware of all the safety acts and measures and that we can safely work in the OEDK.
Started learning about the Engineering Design Process step by step from the beginning. Currently we are working on an enrichment device for the Anteaters at the Houston Zoo and basically we are using this project to a learn through the Engineering Design Process which so far its the best way to go about.
In the Anteater Project am working with Karen and Jeremy in Team Two. The project is still in progress and hoping to come up with the prototype by next week. so far the project is going well and we have managed to brainstorm some of the possible designs for the enrichment device.
